WELCOME - To the Empire Cheer "COLUMBUS DAY CLASSIC" to be held Saturday, OCTOBER 9, 2010 at R.I.T., Rochester, NY.  This Competition is open to all teams and is designed to be a friendly, competitive tournament to show off the talents of cheerleading teams in upstate New York.  In the past, we have showcased teams from the Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester areas.  Our last tournament had competitors from over 95 teams!  We hope you will join us for this action packed day on the beautiful R.I.T.. College Campus!

TIME   Doors will open at 3:30 and we will begin the competition at 4:00.


TEAM COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS -Open to all age groups in Youth, High School and All Star teams.  The routine must be no more that 2 1/2 minutes long with a cheer and dance portion.  The routine must contain a group jump, partner stunt and gymnastic move.  Megaphones and signs may be used.  the entrance and exit will not be judges.  National Federation rules must be followed.  We will be using a 42' X 42' Mat.    


INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION REQUIREMENT - Open High School Juniors and Seniors.  Your routine may be no longer than 1 1/2 minutes long with a cheer and dance portion.  It must contain 2 jumps and you may enter in the Tumbling or Non-Tumbling Division.  Your team must be competing in the tournament and National Federation Rules apply.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Divisions will be assigned according to enrollment and squad size.  Admission for spectators is $6.00.  Two Coaches will be admitted free of charge with each team competing.  Performance order will be determined randomly.  Jeff from Whirlin' Disc DJ service will be there and coaches will be able to start and stop their music.  Please leave all valuables at home.  Locker rooms will not be provided.  We will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

AWARDS - Every team will receive a trophy!  Each team member will receive a ticket for drawings that are held throughout the competition!
